Week of
The week’s sky 26/10: full moon at 4.12am, in Taurus. 1/11: last quarter at 8.28pm, in Leo.
A bucket under the drip
Since the last downpour, a bucket has stood in the back bedroom, keeping time under a gap in the roof you have eyed for months. You could fix it yourself, given a ladder and a dry afternoon. Do not. On Wednesday, ring three roofers, which means asking for help three times before lunch. Someone could be up there by Friday. If so, on Sunday the bucket can go back under the sink, where it belongs.
Love
More than once this year, the person you share the house with has offered to find a roofer and been told it is in hand. This week, say yes. If they make the calls, let them, and do not ring back afterwards to check the quote. If you live alone, the neighbour with the long ladder probably has an opinion and a number; knock on Tuesday evening and ask for both.
Work and money
At work, a colleague’s report has a mistake in it that you could quietly correct on Thursday, as you have done before. This time, hand it back with the line marked in pencil. It costs them ten minutes and teaches them more than your silence has. Spend the hour it saves on your own deadline, which is Friday and, for once, comfortably within reach.
Body and mind
No ladders in the dark, however tempting a dry Thursday evening looks. Your back has carried enough this year without a gutter added. Shut the back bedroom door to keep the cold in there, and put the heating on in the rest of the house without arguing with yourself about the bill. On Sunday, stay in bed until nine with tea and yesterday’s crossword.
Wednesday, for ringing the roofer instead of fetching the ladder
