The constellation of Gemini, the Twins

Gemini horoscope this week

The Twins, 21 May to 20 June · Air, mutable, ruled by Mercury

The week’s sky 26/10: full moon at 4.12am, in Taurus. 1/11: last quarter at 8.28pm, in Leo.

Forty questions and one disputed answer

Somewhere between a weak moment and a pint, you agreed to write and host the charity quiz at the pub on Thursday. Monday and Tuesday vanish into research, which is to say into thirty-one open tabs about the flags of small nations. In the early hours of Wednesday the Moon moves into your sign, and the questions may start writing themselves. Cut them down to forty. On Thursday, stand at the front with a microphone and a clipboard and enjoy every groan.

Love

Anyone who usually sits on your quiz team is now barred from playing, and may sulk about it beautifully. Give them a job: marking, or the music round. If you are single, there is always one table that disputes every answer. Is the loudest person on table six as sure of themselves at the bar afterwards? Only one way to find out.

Work and money

An email thread at work has reached twenty-three replies and no decision. You could add a twenty-fourth, a witty one. Or you could book fifteen minutes on Wednesday afternoon, invite the four people who matter, and come out with an answer. Write the decision in two lines and send it to the whole thread before five. This week, the most useful words you write may be the fewest.

Body and mind

Research is a fine excuse for being awake at one in the morning reading up on paperclips. Set yourself a cut-off: nothing new after eleven. Your voice carries the whole evening on Thursday, so keep a glass of water by the answer sheets and let the microphone do the work. On Sunday, spend an hour somewhere with no signal and see how long it takes to stop reaching for your pocket.

The day to watch

Thursday, for reading out the answers and standing by every one of them
