Other people’s weather, and yours
You have been carrying a fortnight of other people’s moods and some of it has started to look like your own. The first job of the week is telling the difference. Very little of what has been sitting on you since August actually belongs to you, and Friday is a good place to draw a line under the part that does not. Start with something physical and small; the vague larger thing gets easier once one room is straight.
Love
You have been the understanding one for three weeks and it has quietly stopped being a choice. Ask for something small this week, plainly, with no explanation attached to it. The people who love you are not being unkind; they have simply been told for years that you never need anything.
Work and money
Vagueness is doing the damage, not the workload. Get the brief in writing with a date on it and half of the dread goes with it. If a colleague’s share has quietly become yours again, hand one piece of it back before Thursday, while it can still be done pleasantly.
Body and mind
Sleep has been shallow and full of other people. Water helps you more than it helps most: a swim, a long shower, a walk beside anything with a current in it. Twenty minutes of music without a screen at the end of the evening beats an hour of scrolling.
